Biosketch

I have a degree in medicine from the University of Barcelona (2001). I specialized in psychiatry at Hospital del Mar (2002-2006), where I currently work as a consultant psychiatrist in the perinatal psychiatry unit. In the past, I have been coordinating the first-episode psychosis program and the hospitalization and emergency unit. In 2010 I completed my Ph.D. on functional and structural brain abnormalities related to emotion processing in schizophrenia. Since then, I have developed my research career in the Neuroimage Research Group at IMIM and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in the study of first episodes of psychosis and neuroimage, and also at the Imaging Research Center at the  Carter Lab in UCDavis from 2017 to 2019, where I stayed as a visiting scholar. I have published several research papers in neuroimaging, schizophrenia, and psychosis. In the area of academy, I am an associate professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, I have been a teacher of several master’s and postgraduate courses and I have directed three PhD projects.
